Why we built
Simple Arrows.

I was waiting between ends, scrolling through six archery apps I’d downloaded. Two months into shooting, I was keen to measure something. Before I’d managed to set up a round in any of them, they called the line.

Six months later, I’d settled on one: a deliciously nerdy spreadsheet of an app that recorded everything. I wanted to track it all, but started overthinking on the line. And I still couldn’t get the one number I wanted: my average for a freeform, three-arrow end at 18 meters that wasn’t part of a WA 300.

My wife, meanwhile, scored on paper. She refused apps. Too ugly, too fiddly, she said.

So, a year on, here it is. Simple Arrows was built with the feedback and generosity of a few dozen archers, from beginners to seasoned competitors, many of them from Gotham Archery in Brooklyn. Thank you, all of you.

My wife scores with it now. She also drew the icon.

I hope it makes your time on the line a little calmer.

An early icon: a yellow clay face with googly eyes and an anxious, wavy mouth on a red background.
P.S. Her first stab at the icon. The poor guy needs to work on his mind game.

A little support.
A few extras.

Every feature is free: scoring, Timeline, Insights, all of it. Supporter is purely cosmetic: 3D arrows, a full arrow designer, alternate icons, skins for your target faces ... that kind of thing.

One purchase, no subscription. It helps keep Simple Arrows going. Thank you.
